HUZUR VADISI, TURKEY
It was my great pleasure (and privilege) to attend my first ever yoga retreat at Huzur Vadisi, so I feel rather that I owe everyone involved in making my week so special a hearty "thank you"! As a newcomer to yoga I was more than a little apprehensive in advance of arriving, so I was incredibly relieved (and very grateful for the expert management of the programme by Simon) that I was able to keep up without, I hope, spoiling the practice of the other, more experienced, attendees. All in all, I found it a revelatory week, which I hope will launch an ongoing personal practice. I will be back!! Annie Bowden, August 2014
For persons coming to the Huzur Vadisi yoga retreats by themselves you are welcome to share a yurt with another solo guest (shared rate applicable), or request a single yurt or safari tent (single supplememnts apply).
Those coming with friends you have options of twin or triple share rate. Triple share is at the same shared rate as twin share.
VENUE - Set among fig and olive groves Huzur Vadisi is in the region of South West Turkey known as Lycia. The aptly named Huzur Vadisi or ‘peaceful valley’, is situated in a secluded mountain region a few miles away from the beautiful & unspoiled Mediterranean coastline and local marina town of Gocek. The centre is based around the original restored farmhouse. There are hammocks hanging enticingly between the trees, a beautiful natural stone swimming pool and a traditional wooden ‘kosk’ or tree/summerhouse, which is a favourite place for siestas and evening gatherings. Huzur Vadisi offers stunning scenery, clear night skies, great walking in the pine forest to spectacular view points and exceptionally warm hospitality in a very peaceful environment.
PRICES INCLUDE - Accommodation on a twin share basis in beautiful yurts (singles available at extra supplement subject to availabilty), full board (mainly vegetarian), all yoga tuition, and one full days boat trip each week. The price does not include flights or insurance. (See single supp info below.)

Massage treatments are available throughout your stay. Payments are made directly to your therapist.
CLASSES - Yoga classes take place in the mornings and late afternoon in the beautiful yoga shala, where often the only sound to be heard is a shepherd’s flute or the tinkling of goat bells in the surrounding hills.
My yoga holiday with Simon Low at the beautiful Huzur Vadisi was one of the most fun and relaxing holidays of my life. When I arrived in Turkey, I was stressed and uptight after months of working without a break, but my week with Simon completely turned it around. Friends commented on what a different person I came back as. Most importantly, I had such a marvellous time at the retreat, met the most wonderful people and laughed harder than I'd laughed for months and months. I will be back!!! Olivia Baloghy
ACCOMMODATION - Sleeping accommodation is in traditional nomadic yurts. These are circular wooden framed permanent ‘tents’, which are very comfortable, spacious & equipped with 'proper' beds, electricity, fans and have wooden floors. NB: availability of single accommodation is always limited and dependent on group numbers.
NEW FOR 2015 - The owner's house is also available to rent this year, including a car to get about in. This is a traditional Turkish village house, with two bedrooms, living room, kitchen, central hallway, bathroom and balcony. The house is simple and comfortable with washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioning and wifi. As the owner's home it comes with all those little touches that make it a real home from home, and it is ideal for families. The house is a 20 minute walk from Huzur Vadisi, in a secluded location with west-facing views. If you are interested, please contact us on email@example.com for more information.
CATERING - Meals are delicious and in the style of Turkish village cooking, using fresh local produce, mainly vegetarian, and occasionally fresh local fish. Many guests say it is worth going for the food alone!
TRAVEL - There are many flights that go direct from the UK to Dalaman. Flight costs vary depending on the time of booking.
We can arrange a pick up from the airport which is likely to cost you £25. It will be less if we can arrange for you to be met at the same time as other guests. Do please liaise with us when you book you flights.
NB - It is a condition of this vacation that each person has personal travel insurance appropriate to activity and fitness centred holidays.
"Many people here are repeaters, but my niggling fear that yoga trips attract neurotic middle-aged women or diehard hippies soon subsides when I meet the other guests. There are two couples, a guy on his own, a mother and son, and a girl who's not done yoga before but fancies a spot of rest and relaxation. Our mornings start with the chime of Tibetan cymbals heralding the first class. The yoga sala is a beautiful wooden structure, covered with vines. It's very atmospheric with dappled sunlight falling on the floor and the call to prayer from mosques in neighbouring villages echoing around the mountains. With all the fresh air, good food and yoga I'm feeling fantastically healthy. Something about the tranquillity of Huzur Vadisi gets under your skin."
