OXON HOATH, TONBRIDGE, KENTSIMON IS BEING JOINED BY GUEST TEACHER SUE DELF 2009 VENUE - Oxon Hoath, a secluded country estate near Tonbridge in West Kent is surrounded by 73 acres of its own parkland hosting exotic trees, romantic gardens, woodlands, ancient courtyards and lake. Oxon Hoath was originally built more than 600 years ago as a royal park for the kingdom’s oxen and deer and has been the ancestral family home to eleven Knights of the Realm. Oxon Hoath is an ideal and spacious destination for our yoga weekend offering peace, privacy and has two excellent practice facilities. CLASSES - On this weekend Simon will be accompanied by a special guest teacher Sue Delf. Classes will run concurrently, utilizing two studios. You are free to attend any of the classes, to explore the house, and to use either of the two studios for self-practice. Tuition is orientated towards all levels and focuses on the foundations of yoga with each session lasting for at least two hours allowing time for greater emphasis on pranayama, relaxation and meditation techniques. Whilst encouraging everyone to attend all yoga classes, they are of course optional and the schedule allows for plenty of free time for rest and relaxation. Unless otherwise stated, these weekends are suitable for all levels of experience from beginner up to teacher level. SUE DELF is a British Wheel of Yoga trained teacher and has recently completed post graduate studies in the Krishnamacharya tradition. Over the last 16 years she has been influenced by the rich teachings of her mentors Simon Low, Francoise Freedman (perinatal yoga), Baron Baptiste and her primary teacher Gill Lloyd. In the yoga practice there is great emphasis on the breath and on moving with the breath in sequences that can build in intensity but modifications/alternatives are offered so that each person can adapt the practice to suit their individual needs. Sue is one of the teacher trainers for The Yoga Academy. ACCOMMODATION - Many bedrooms in this splendid historic Grade Two listed building are en-suite and retain the original mansion proportions, many enjoying spectacular views over the grounds and the Weald of Kent beyond.
