MOLINO DEL REY, ANDALUCIA, SPAIN

VENUE - Located in a quiet little village in a beautiful and unspoilt region of Andalucia near the famous city of Ronda, Molino del Rey is a converted water mill with pools, meditation and drumming caves, & one of the best yoga studies in Europe. The classic ‘white village’ of Alozaina is 4 kms away, and has good facilities, a bank, post office and supermarket, plus the opportunity of sampling the local tapas. Over the last 12 months Molino Del Rey has been subject to a complete refurbishment, with improvements to the bedrooms & en-suite bathrooms, interconnecting walkways & terraces, the yoga studio & common areas, & two new luxury bedrooms have been added, making the centre the best ever experience. Molino Del Rey is situated only one hour from Marbella & Puerto Banus, Malaga, & Ronda & within easy reach of many famous villages & sites in Andalucia. Cordoba, Granada, Seville, & other more distant cities are still within reach on the day off, should you wish to take a drive inland to these famous Andalucian destinations.

YOGA CLASSES & STUDIO - Molino Del Rey has one of the best yoga studios in Europe with under-floor heating, wooden flooring, lots of wall space, and a full range of yoga props, including chairs. The spacious and light flooded studiostudio occupies an extraordinary position, hand-cut out of the mountain, floor to ceiling windows with views across the valley and a door leading into the inner stillness of the caves. Yoga classes are offered twice a day (8am and 5pm). Pranayama and meditation are incorporated within the sessions. There is usually one free morning and one free afternoon a week to allow for excursions. You will receive a full schedule upon arrival. The maximum number of students on this week will be 18-20. With single room bookings, we usually number about 16.

On-site massage and other therapies are available throughout your stay at Molino Del Rey. Payments direct to therapist.

ACCOMMODATION - All rooms have en-suite bathrooms & have air conditioning, heating systems, tea making facilities, & and balconies, most of which have great views of the mountains and the peaceful valley of Jorox. A limited number of single rooms may be available at varying rates starting from £250 per week (subject to availability). There is one King bedded Junior Suite & a Superior twin, & one single bedded room, all with a small supplement, otherwise all rooms are twin bedded en-suite.

CATERING - Fully vegetarian food. No meat is served at the centre. Fish can be arranged upon advance request.

TRAVEL - Molino Del Rey is off the beaten track about one hour’s drive from Malaga and the coast. As public transport is very limited in this region it is advisable to hire a car. If you wish, we can put you in touch with other students to share the cost.  It is necessary to make your own way from Malaga to Molino del Rey (about one hour from Malaga airport). Full easy-to-follow travel directions will be sent to you upon booking.

Unless you are staying in Spain either side of the retreat week, we recommend that you book a middle of the day flight arrival into Malaga so that you can arrive at Molino from about 3pm. Departure from Molino will be at 10.30 am approx and therefore we recommend an afternoon/evening return flight from Malaga.

Taxis from Malaga Airport will cost £55 approx, so we recommend sharing if possible. Please make sure you have your directions at hand for the taxi driver. Car hire is also recommended as there are several places of interest to visit from Molino Del Rey, the drive to and the City of Ronda being especially noteworthy. If you have chosen to drive, we recommend you bring an up-to-date map of Andalucia with you. If you would like to travel by hire car or taxi to share costs with another participant(s), please let us know & we can try & arrange this. In this instance you might wish to ask Robinson Travel or Mary in our office for a flight suggestion that is also being taken by another participant. For large numbers of students we can arrange a coach service from Malaga airport (price upon request).

It is a condition of this vacation that each person has personal travel insurance appropriate to activity and fitness centred holidays.
